Hey blog, Listen, I know a lot about music, I'm really passionate about it, I love me some music sheets and some classic jazz, a good melody, guitar solos, you name it. I love it. Rap, R&B, pop, jazz, house, alternative hip hop, see, that's... that's my thing... Rock, however, I know very little about it. You know, just the basics, Nirvana, Queen, Guns N Roses, AC/DC, Aerosmith, KISS. So here it is, MY research about ROCK!
WTH is ROCK?
The actual definition of rock from the dictionary is: "a form of popular music that evolved from rock and roll and pop music during the mid and late 1960s. Harsher and often self-consciously more serious than its predecessors, it was initially characterized by musical experimentation and drug-related or anti-establishment lyrics." Rock was one of the most popular forms of music for decades before hip hop became more mainstream. After rock gained many fans, it also gained many subgenres:
- Blues Rock AKA Rock ´N Roll
- Punk Rock
- Classic Rock
All these subgenres led to rock being defined by its aesthetic than any specific musical features, except the electric guitar, that one is used in all subgenres. Crazy right? Rock is rebellious, experimental, free, rebellious, and energetic. Many artists aspire to achieve these feelings in their songs, which is normal because, over the years, musicians have been inspired by the sound of rock.

SOCIAL INFLUENCE
The rock genre has had a significant influence on the world we have lived for since it was introduced to the public. The introduction of rock brought many positive impacts in fashion, and film, not only that but gave musicians more opportunities and has also helped the community by creating events like LIVE AID, which was a charity event millions of people attend, to have fun, and help the feminine community in Africa.
LIVE AID
A well-known Rock music concert whose purpose was to help the feminine relief in Ethiopia and Sudan.
Live Aid used digital technology to inspire all citizens of the world to take action on one problem. This was the largest television broadcast in 1985, with an estimated 19 Billion users across 150 Nations watching live, this is a huge deal because technology was just starting to develop.
FASHION X ROCK
Rock stars changed fashion forever. They created a new style that is known as Punk fashion. This style is based on beaten up jean jackets, a lot of silver jewelry, remarkable hairstyles, very dark colors, exaggerated pieces, and crazy makeup.
Brands like Saint Laurent, Vivienne Westwood, John Varvatos, Chanel, and Valentino have all been inspired by the rock genre throughout the years.

English rock band formed in London in 1962. They were together for 6 decades. They are one of the most enduring bands of the rock era. They are said to have defined what "ROCK" really was.
