 Hello blogster!!! so update on my trip! its been good, pretty smooth, Im in New Orleans as of right now and I have 3 hours to spare. So we made a call , Ana, Mia, Cameron and I joined to talk about some things and programming for next week.

Schedule agreement

Hi......... I'm at the airport right now waiting for my flight to LA,  and I was just texting on the group chat, Ana, Gerardo and I have to figure out what days we can work and finish the project.  We are often pretty busy during the week since we all work but we opened our schedule to finish the project and this is what we came up with:

1: MARCH 29, 4PM make a call and figure out things like what to bring to the photoshoot, location of both the video and the photoshoot, storyboard for the video, recording dates, etc.

2:MARCH 30, 5PM Photoshoot and digipack meet up (2 outfits)

3: APRIL 3/4 TH Recording date 

We immediately talked to the band members to see if the dates we had picked out worked for them but unfortunately, they didn't really loved the dates and they sent us a calendar with green X's that marked when they could work:

So, we came up with this better option

Phone meeting: March 29 at 4pm

Photo Shoot: Sunday, April 3rd 

VIDEO RECORDING: April Sunday 3rd/ Tuesday 5th

It will be rough since the editing and everything takes a lot of time, and the project is due soon... but it will be okay.

Tough spring break

 Hellooooo. I'm so so, so excited because I was just told yesterday that I'm leaving to California with my brother on Wednesday, 23rd. I'm so excited because I'm going to see my cousin that lives there and I haven't seen her in like 3 years. However, I  think this kind of sucks since this spring break would have been useful to put so much order in our project and even be more organized with everything. I come back on the 29th at 10pm NY time.

Ana, my other partner already left on Saturday for Las Vegas, which means will be in the same time zone and can communicate easier, she will be there for a long time. My other partner, Gerardo is touring the college he will be attending for about 3 days.

We also talked to the band last week and asked them what they were going to be up to, and Jack, and Cameron are leaving the state, Jade has school since she goes to a different school than us and the rest are staying in FL. It is a pretty harsh time to work on this project but we will. keep in contact with them and make sure we create some type of schedule for next week.

I will make updates while on vacation! don't miss me too much...

HOW IS PLUTO, PLUTO?

 HI! today is learning day AF! when we met the band we asked them how they met each other and it was actually an amazing and very funny but easy story.

So as you all don't know, all the amazing members of Pluto, the band, are all part of the School of rock academy, where they learned how to play each of their instruments. Mia, the drummer, and Cameron, who plays the bass, have a class in common at school. One day the teacher whose class Mia and Cameron have in common asked the class if anyone had a band that could play at our school's homecoming. Cameron grabbed  Mias' hand and raised both of their hands and said "We do, we have a band" when they did in fact...not have a band. Furthermore, the girls had no other choice but to start a band, so they recruited Jack, Gabbie, and Jade who all knew each other from The school of rock program. They decided on a name, Pluto, and since then they have practiced, performed at homecoming, have done different gigs in different locations, and have had lots of fun. To the point where they are making their own song together that will soon have a music video to go with it.

Although it is not the most fun and exciting story, it is pretty wholesome, and we are so happy we are a chapter on these guys' lives because of a project.

 Hello, blog! so Ana, Gerardo, and I have been talking about incorporating people that follow the account on the music video. The idea is to make a contest on the IG stories and choose certain people from it. 

This is a great way to engage with our audience and make connections with the people that want to be part of Pluto somehow! The winner will get the chance to have one on one time with the band and be able to be seen side by side with them in a music video, maybe get some afterward.

We will begin this by making a poster and in the bio of the post we will share all the steps on how to do it:

POSE!

 Hellooooooo!! We got some cool news! so, we're planning on having a photoshoot with the band soon in order for us to have content on the digipack. The digipack is also part of the project, it is a very important part of the project actually. In order for us to accomplish this, we need our own original pictures. We don't want to be content stealers and use others people's pictures since The band has had different photoshoots before while they play at different gigs. (here's a great picture of Cameron playing the bass, we didn't take this pic lol)

Were thinking of hopefully doing one during spring break which is in 2 weeks! I don't know if I'm leaving to do something or if they are free to shoot it then but I will let you know!

the gig this weekend

Hello, blog!! So the band had their 1st gig of the year last Saturday and we can say it was quite a success, they had lots of people watching them play and it was super fun! It was at a place called Tequila Sunrise, a Mexican food place that has a crazy venue perfect for them to play!

 Here's a video that they sent us of them playing, we couldn't attend since it was kinda far from where we live... but either way they sound amazing 

    They are mostly a cover band so this is not the song we will be doing the video for... you'll see later

MET BAND For the 1St TIME!

 Hey, blog!! We had the incredible opportunity

to finally meet the band members in real life. In some blogs below I talked about how we were planning on meeting up with them at their studio down in Hollywood. Sadly our partner Ana could not attend due to personal reasons, but Gerardo and I drove 30 ish minutes down to meet up with Gabbie, Jade, Jack, Cameron, and Mia at Mia's studio! 

The guys were super fun and polite, honestly didn't expect anything but good vibes from these guys, and we had an amazing time with them. We got to know them so much better and we think that recording and working with them will be super fun and easy!

Here's a cool pic we took at the awesome studio where they were recording the song we will be making the music video for. Great song great people, we will have an amazing outcome

STORIES UPDATE

  Hey HeY hEY!! wasup blog?   so we recently had a very cool lecture in class about how to manage a social media page and our teacher dropped some knowledge on us that made us realize how important stories on Instagram are. Our group actually had only been thinking about posting actual pictures on the feed but stories are a key way to interact with our followers so... we did it. I started by posting some stories about their gig on Saturday:p

First I posted a video of them playing a short part of the song were making the video for that I took when Gerardo and I went to meet them  with the location of the gig as a sticker,  that way when you click on it, it will take you to the direct location

Then, I decided that it was important to add a poll in order to understand who was actively watching and being interactive with our content so I made a poll to see who was attending the actual event! Here are the results of the poll, our repost from our feed, including the location of the venue, and a cool song to match the vibes of the band. (PIC ON RIGHT)

Engagement party

 Hello bloggster wasup. So since we’re already doing pretty good with our consistent posts on the social media page @________Plutotheband (DONT FORGET IT!) we were talking about how we needed to create engaging posts in the future to 1 help or page grow, and 2 play with our audience. 

We actually just had a lesson on how to manage social Media and how to make everything come together in a good “effortless” way. Here are some of the notes I took from my teachers presentation

Some of the things were looing forward on doing on our social media are:

• Post more consistently
• Create stories of events/ Behind the scenes
• Create highlights according to posts

official introduction of PLUTO!

Helloblog1 so , as we wait for Tuesday to come, we are trying our hardest to stay active on the social media, so we decided that it was time to post those introduction posts of the members of the band that we were working on some blogs bellow. 

So after me and Gerardo finished working on them, although it is not the cleanest edit, we decided that it was important to keep the purple aesthetic the band has so we add a caption to each picture of each of the members (The one that they sent to us) which really does capture the essence of the band. They are all pretty funny guys, we laughed while making the posts.

Since there are only 5 members in the band the Instagram would have been unequal so, we added a promoting post of a gig they're going to do at this place in Oakland park called Tequila Sunrise. Another band that's friend of theirs is also playing there, "The Priorities". They had already created a poster for this event but it dent really fit the  aesthetic of the MEDIA social media IG page so I made a new one for them, same info, same pics just different colors heheheh

MEET AND GREET+DEMO

 Hello blogie... so today we got very good news that I feel are slowly taking us in the right path into slowly finishing our media project which we are so excited for!

So we have been talking to the band a lot and they told us that they will be getting together to work on the demo on Tuesday March 8. Of course we asked if we could pull up  and be there to see, hear and get to know them. THEY SAID YES! so on Tuesday all of us are going to try to drive down to Hollywood where they Studio is located and hang out with them, talk about the project, brainstorm ideas and listen to the song!

We al think this is a great opportunity for all of us, I personally have been in a studio before and let me tell you it some of the coolest places to be in, I'm excited to see what they have prepared and hear them work together and be art of their creative space for a couple of hours is a privilege

TARGET AUDIENCE

 Whatsup blog! its me again... So I wanted  to do some short research on the target audience of the genre of ROCK! obviously there are several stereotypical aspects of people who enjoy rock... but I think there is a bit of a range to be honest. 

So the first thing that pops up when you search the target audience of the Rock Genre is quite literally "older, Caucasian, and suburban/rural dwellers and have a significant representation from the Midwest"  Although this might be true, since there are so many different  branches of rock, i think there should be a different types of target audience for them.

For PLUTO specifically I've sense that their target audience falls more towards Caucasian, urban teenagers who enjoy listening to new bands and sporting other new artists. The reason for this is because its because PLUTO is originally made from the ground by teenagers, so obviously the main people that are likely to listen to them are teenagers. Pretty sure the range of ages could possibly be 14 to 30 year olds 

Our goal with Pluto is to help them grow their target audience. Although we know rock isn't one of people go to genre to listen to, it is one of the main ones.  We will try our best to promote the band in the best way possible to reach a bigger audience.

killin time, making posts

 Hey blog! So as you have seen before we did start our social media, we are still working on it.

Lat class, we were working on the introduction posts for all of the band members that way we have more content and fun things to add to the social media page. We asked the band to send their favorite pics of themselves doing their thing and a small caption and let me tell you this guys are quite funny. SEE ABOVE

Here's a little sneak peak of our next posts, were also thinking of introducing a new event they will participate on... which is exciting! well see if we can go

For the aesthetic of the page we still want to continue the purple and the red color hues so we were working on some basic photoshop to help us achieve this. It was really nothing complicated but hopefully we can have it ready to be posted  asap.

Next ting is working on the highlights and stories of the media band page because they're an essential tool Instagram has.
